I don't normally write reviews but I decided this place deserved a higher rating so I wanted to contribute.
Overall the experience is very enjoyable.
The service is good, nothing too special but definitely polite, and quick.
The ambiance is very calming, there is music playing and the inside is decorated very well.
And finally the food:
The food was delicious, the meals come with french bread that's warm and crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. I had the french onion soup to start, and thought that was incredible, everything french onion soup should be. My main course was the burger with french fries, very enjoyable and affordable. My girlfriend had the new york steak which was cooked perfectly and very tender and flavorful.
Finally we shared the apple tart, which was also very good.
Will definitely be coming back and I recommend you to try this place especially if you love french onion soup!

We very much enjoyed our first dining experience at Chou Chou in Burlingame. Service was great, and the food was very good. We particularly enjoyed the cassoulet, which we all agreed was a standout dish. Our server recommended an excellent bottle of French chardonnay, which we will also try again. The interior is very nice, but they just need to dim the lights a bit as the sun sets. We look forward to dining there again soon.

Delicious French cuisine with friendly, attentive staff! I was introduced to this restaurant by my family and have continued to come here since. Highly recommend the escargot and bone marrow to start. At this most recent visit, my partner ordered the salmon and I ordered the vegan linguine. Both were absolutely delicious with great flavor! The crispy brussel sprouts sprinkled on top of the pasta added so much flavor to the dish, I could eat a whole bowl full of them. The restaurant is small and intimate with great atmosphere and French music. It made me feel like I was in a small bistro in Paris. Highly recommend for a romantic date night with your partner/spouse. There are also fantastic deals on Groupon for couples as well, either in-person dining or takeout.

We found ChouChou to be an excellent place to hold our wedding reception. It is a charming neighborhood French bistro that we have enjoyed for years for special dinners. Each time, we've enjoyed the wonderful food and appreciated the attentive service. So we were delighted to find that it is available for private events and knew immediately it would be the perfect place for our wedding reception. In addition to the great food and service, we knew it would provide the intimate experience we wanted and that our guests would enjoy easy free street parking (a big plus over many venues in San Francisco). ChouChou even has a separate room that can be used for larger groups or for dancing. Our guests made many comments about how very delicious the food was. Angel and the rest of the staff could not have been more helpful, supportive and patient throughout the process. ChouChou staff truly was lovely, and we are grateful to them for making us and our guests feel taken care of. Highest rating from us for food, service, ambiance and location!

I lived in France for 4 years. Definitely miss the food. This was our first time trying this restaurant out. The restaurant is pretty cute and quiet. I love how they place their tables so the guests could have more privacy not super close to the next table.
The service was great! The Duck Wellington needed a little more seasoning but the Beef Bourguignon was soooo good! Escargots and crème brûlée were also great! I wish the escargots were bigger.
I was so grateful for the private parking on the right side of the restaurant. We were running a little late , they would nice to accommodate that.

Recommend: Rack of lamb, Duck leg wellington, Creme brulee
When I saw the Groupon for Chouchou say "take out only", I was definitely skeptical that I would get a good French meal. Lord was I wrong, Chouchou delivered for sure!
My Groupon came with a salad, 2 entrees, and a dessert. I chose the red beet and arugula salad, rack of lamb, duck confit wellington, and creme brulee.
Each of the meals came in it's own plastic container and everything was packed and ready to go when I arrived. Service was quick and courteous. When I got home 30 mins later, everything was still hot. Most surprisingly, the wellington pastry was still crispy!
Okay so the food:
Rack of lamb: best thing on the menu! It comes with a madeira wine sauce and herb butter. Get it medium rare for a tender, succulent dish. Comes with three 1.5 ribs and roasted root veggies - enough for one person.
Duck leg confit wellington: close second! Pastry stayed crispy and the meat was tender and flavorful. The mustard sauce it comes with helps cut some of the richness as does the veggies. It can get a bit overwhelming so I recommend sharing with someone. Portion enough for 1 person to be full.
Red beet and arugula salad: nice salad, generous portion. Love the toasted almonds and the strawberry vinaigrette. Eat it with the entrees, the acidity is really welcome.
Creme Brulee: comes in a maybe 2 inch diameter disposable dish. Really smooth with a crunchy but not burnt top. I loved this dessert, my only complaint is that it wasn't bigger.
Grab a bottle of wine with the savings you'd get from this $79 steal if a deal and have a beautiful French dinner in the comfort of your own home.

Had a lovely time at this small restaurant. We had a special event so the place was booked out for it, and it was clear the staff wanted to make it special. They helped set up everything exactly as we wanted it, leaving one room free of tables in case we wanted a dance floor. Despite needing to put out all the food orders at once, the food came out in a timely manner and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the salmon and risotto. I'm always weary of ordering risotto at restaurants because it's a dish that takes time to do right, but wow did they do it right!

Great service and great food. Very quaint. My favorite is their burger -- BEST BURGER I've ever had. Gotta eat it fresh there though; take out burger takes away the quality and taste as it gets cold. Fries are crisp just the way I like them. Mushroom soup is the bomb!!!! I also love the deviled eggs. Soufflé dish is great too.
